BSB Rd 1: McDougall fifth after first Supersport Cup qualifying session

05-04-2008

With a damp track greeting the British Supersport Cup riders as they went out for this morning's opening Qualifying session at Brands Hatch, Beowulf Racing wisely decided to wait for a dry line to emerge before joining the proceedings.

Taking to the track in the last quarter of the 40-minute period, Beowulf rider Pat McDougall completed six laps of the 2.3-mile Grand Prix circuit to post a time of 1:36.656. This places Pat in fifth position in the Cup series and 29th overall.

A second session starts at 1.20pm this afternoon. Check out our Results section for a full report this evening.

BSB Rd 1 Brands Hatch Supersport Cup Friday

04-04-2008

In day 1 of the BSB Brands Hatch round Pat McDougall had two free practice sessions before qualifying tomorrow and racing on Sunday. Pat posted the 2nd fastest time in the Supersport Cup competition which is a great start to our campaign and is a good step on the development of our new Supersport bike. The team decided to run two full race length (18 lap) sessions to look at tyre wear and Pat's time in the second session was 1.5 seconds faster than the first. We are looking forward to building further on this good result as we go into tomorrow. The first photos from Brands Hatch will be posted tomorrow evening. WSB Rd 1 Valencia Superstock 600 Friday

04-04-2008

Day 1 of the WSB Valencia round resulted in Dan Linfoot qualifying 7th and Gino Rea 10th in the first of the two qualifying sessions before the race tomorrow. Tomorrow has the second qualifying session followed by the race and the results today give us a good base on which to build. In this morning's free practice we used the opportunity to fix a throttle issue on Dan's bike and to finalise the electronics settings for Gino before the qualifying this afternoon. For the qualifying we decided to use the same tyres as free practice. With only three sets of tyres allowed for the weekend this will give us new tyres for final qualifying tomorrow and also for the race. The qualifying itself was without major incident and both riders were able to settle in and post good times that we will aim to better in the morning. Pictures from today are posted in the gallery and full results are at the WSB website at http://www.worldsbk.com/pubb_EN/result.php

The great race at the new Portimao circuit brings an end to our season in World Superbike Superstock 600, with riders Gino Rea and Dan Linfoot.

The season has been a success with Gino third and Dan fifth in the championship standings following three victories and five additional podiums in total. The results have also acted as a stepping stone to the riders for next season, with both securing high profile, career progressing rides for 2009.

Thank you for all of the emails, calls, texts and visits throughout the year. It has been much appreciated.
