WSBK Brno - strong first qualifying result on Friday

A good qualifying session this afternoon saw Gino Rea in 4th and Dan Linfoot in 5th on the provisional start grid after the first of two qualifying sessions for the Brno WSBK round. All of the top five riders beat the current lap record set last year, as the pace is getting faster round by round. We used our qualifying tyres today so will use the second qualifying tomorrow to consolidate our race set up prior to the race at 5.40 CET tomorrow afternoon. As usual, a start position on the two front rows of the grid (8 positions) will leave us in a good position to challenge for the podium finishes. The great race at the new Portimao circuit brings an end to our season in World Superbike Superstock 600, with riders Gino Rea and Dan Linfoot.
The season has been a success with Gino third and Dan fifth in the championship standings following three victories and five additional podiums in total. The results have also acted as a stepping stone to the riders for next season, with both securing high profile, career progressing rides for 2009.
